There has only been one extraterrestrial creature in all of cinema history that has completely convinced me of its reality, that appeared so realistic that I couldn’t understand how they did it, exactly. This, my friends, is the “Facehugger” incarnation of the creature in ‘ALIEN’, the first stage of the beast’s ever-evolving appearance. Eight-fingered, spinal-corded, crab-like and tough, this monster has always been my very favorite movie creature. For this virtual event, I am proud to have recreated the appearance of the being in question, paying strict attention to every last detail of its original look as it was presented in the 1979 classic. A series of layers and translucent paint work—-as well as some special materials—-are employed to obtain the look seen here.
